April 19 to April 30 State Testing Day for ELA

Students will be testing from Thursday, April 19 to Monday, April 30 in their English class. Ongoing assignments during this time: Finish reading the novel, Homecoming. Add a signpost to your log for each chapter. You should finish reading by May 1 and 2. Continue researching your career. Be ready with your research notes on May 3 and 4.

April 13 and 16 (Odd 1 and Even 2)

Link to lesson slides for 4/13 and 4/16 Today, we will draft essays during class. Please use the paper in Google Classroom to write your essay. Also, be sure to revise and edit your paper. Check for spelling errors, and capitalization and punctuation errors, especially the pronoun "I", which should always be capitalized. When you are finished, submit your final draft to Google Classroom by Tuesday, April 17 for odd classes, and Wednesday, April 18 for even classes. Testing begins tomorrow. Bring your own earbuds if you prefer using your own as well as your book, Homecoming.

April 11 and 12 (odd 5 and even 6)

Link to lesson slides for 4/11 & 4/12. Students worked on the outline for the argumentative essay in class today. The outline should be completely done by the next class period. The essay should be typed in Google Classroom.

April 9 & 10 (odd 3 and even 4)

Link to lesson slides for 4/9 and 4/10 . Students were given the prompt for the argumentative essay today in class. The essay is due on April 17th and 18th. Students should continue reading chapters 11 & 12 in the novel, Homecoming.
